Magento has been downloaded 1 million times

These days the Magento community has great reason to celebrate! The Magento Team announced that the Magento ecommerce software has been downloaded more than 1, 000, 000 times!

Let’s congratulate the Magento developers, the Magento enthusiasts and everyone who uses Magento!

As for me, Magento deserves true respect and admiration because it doesn’t often happen that a new ecommerce application becomes so popular with web developers and online retailers.

We shouldn’t forget that Magento is a new software that is being improved on a regular basis. Never a month goes by without some irresistible updates and new features. Shortly after the 1 millionth download was announced the Magento Team has released the Magento 1.3.2.3.

Yes, the Magento has already been downloaded 1 million times but who said it’s a limit? The new days will definitely bring more downloads of Magento because it’s a great tool for creating online stores!

Introducing Magento Version 1.3.2.2

The Magento Team has released Magento 1.3.2.2. It includes many new features as well as improvements and bug fixes.

We recommend that you read the release notes before downloading the latest version of the Magento ecommerce software.

To name just a few newly added features and changes

• Added configuration to control redirection of customer after login to current page or account dashboard (default)
• Made order save call before email send for protect situation when email send but order not saved
• Added ‘adminhtml_catalog_product_edit_tab_attributes_create_html_before’ event to have an ability to disallow display of ‘create attribute’ button on product edit pages
• Fixed restriction on GET, POST to make possible to have parameters: module, controller, action
• Changed using of read_connection to write_connection in flat catalog classes

If you want to download Magento Version 1.3.2.2, you should visit the official website. However you’d better backup the database before an upgrade.

Also, make sure the Magento Compilation Module is disabled while you perform the upgrade.
